  Adam: Dr. Anthony Ramirez, thank you for taking the time to sit down and chat with me. Let's start off with you giving us a rundown of what you currently do professionally. Anthony: Hi Adam! Thank you so much for having me on Frontera Files. It is great to be talking with you. I’m Dr. Anthony Ramirez, I’m originally from El Paso, but currently work in Houston, Texas at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) as an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies. I am also the Assistant Director of the Center for Latino Studies at UHD. Adam: Very cool, how did you end up landing on Communications? Anthony: When I was younger, my dream career was to be an animator and work for Pixar. At UTEP, they didn't have an animation program so I went into a fine arts program and got my Bachelor's in Fine Arts.   CARPE INSTANTIA Born and raised in sun-drenched El Paso, TX, Bobby Gene Cail has been surrounded by music his entire life and has been making noise since he could swing his arms. He got his start in school music programs, gravitated to the drums, and eventually developed a love for the heavier side of music. Over the years Bobby has been a part of many projects, performed numerous live shows, has toured, taught, and is now gearing up to release his first official solo album on September 19th titled, “Carpe Instantia”. I can’t tell you exactly the moment I developed an incredible need to create, but what I can tell you is when I do go through periods where I don’t have some kind of creative project going on, my anxiety becomes significantly more unmanageable. As a super young kid, I can remember as far back as second grade, I was already drawing these elaborate battle scenes with fighter jets, dragons, UFOs, and who knows what else. Maybe even earlier than that I remember having an assignment where I was supposed to draw my dream bedroom, I recall it was a basement (I have no idea where I even got that concept because I had never been near a house that would have a basement), it had an indoor trampoline, a stage with lights and musical instruments, and if I remember there was a manhole cover that would connect me to the sewers where my friends the Ninja Turtles could be found.
